About Me
I graduated in May of 2005 from the State University of New York at Albany with a double major in Japanese Studies and English Literature. I studied abroad at Kansai Gaikokugo Daigaku for an academic year. (You can see pictures from then
here.)
I went back to Japan with the JET Programme where I was located on the lovely island of Shikoku in a small village called Geisei. (You can find out more about all of this here.)
When I get back to the states, I got my master's degree in secondary education for English Literature. I haven't found a real job yet, so I'm trying out substitute teaching and some tutoring to keep myself fed and clothed.
My current goals are:
- Get a real teaching job.
- Get out of debt.
- Practice my Japanese so I can actually claim some sort of fluency and perhaps even get my certification to teach.
- Spend more time with my boyfriend.
- Try out NaNoWriMo yet again!
- Make a new layout for the site. It's been
over a year a very long time now...
My Webmistressing credentials:
- I tried to learn basic HTML and CSS. I've been copying and pasting my old code over and over. Hey, at least *I* wrote it, and I do it in notepad to boot!
- I actually got cgi scripts and ssi running on this site. Scoff if you like, I know I'm totally awesome.
- I use Jasc PSP to design what I want a layout to look like, and then I use css to make it (mostly) happen.
- Not that impressive, huh?
I love music, and I have a playlist that's on crack. If you want to see what I'm listening to, check out my audioscrobbler account.
That's it for now, until I feel more energetic!
